Studyportals International Student Satisfaction Awards 2014 – Germany
Studyportals would like to congratulate all universities and universities of applied sciences that won an award. Unlike other university rankings, Studyportals’ International Student Satisfaction awards are based on thousands of reviews and opinions from international students in Europe. Among the German universities that received sufficient reviews of international students to be eligible for the International Student Satisfaction Awards, a total of 17 universities received ratings ranging from “very good” (at least 8 out of 10) to “outstanding” (at least 9.5 out of 10).

Country Profile – Germany
A total of 559 students reviewed and rated their study experience in Germany. These reviews form the total of 1325 comments, with an average of 2.4 comments per review. Most students who have reviewed their experience are originally from Europe and studied in Germany for less than one year.
Reasons to (not) recommend an international study experience
- International students recommend Germany for its great cities and vibrant social life
- Students are happier with academics than the European average, although there is still room for improvement
- In comparison to the European average, students find social life more important and are very content with the offer
- Students find the city and culture much more important than the European average, however, they also comment more negatively on it
- Students are quite disappointed with the services offered by their host university; however, they also find this aspect less important than the average international student in Europe
